1. Plastic Pact

India has become the first Asian country to develop a plastics pact, launching a new collaborative initiative that aims to bring together businesses, governments, and nonprofits to set time-bound commitments to reduce plastics from their value chains.



The India Plastics Pact (IPP) has launched as a collaboration between:

  • WWF India
  • the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Plastics Pact aims to keep plastic packaging in the economy and out of the natural environment. It aims to achieve the following targets by 2030:
  • Define a list of unnecessary or problematic plastic packaging and items and take measures to address them through redesign and innovation.
  • 100 percent of plastic packaging to be reusable or recyclable.
  • 50 percent of plastic packaging to be effectively recycled.
  • 25 percent average recycled content across all plastic packaging.

2. Behler Turtle Conservation Award - Indian biologist Shailendra Singh has been awarded the Behler Turtle Conservation Award for bringing three critically endangered turtle conservation species back from the brink of extinction.



3. SIMBEXInitiated in 1994, SIMBEX is the Indian Navy's longest uninterrupted bilateral maritime exercise with any foreign navy. It was the 28th edition of the Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX).

4. Kisan store - It is a combined initiative of Amazon and the Government of India. Farmers can buy seeds, equipment, and other farming-related products in five Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.



5. Tokyo Paralympic - India won total of 19 medals. 5 gold, 8 Silver, and 6 Bronze.
