1. Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday appointed Dr. Parasaram Pattabhi Kesava Ramacharyulu as the new secretary general of the Upper House of Parliament.

3. Goa will become the first state in the country to supply water free of cost to its citizens. Under 'Save Water to Get Free Water' scheme households in the state will not be charged for consumption up to 16,000 litres.

7. United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted a Resolution 2593 on Taliban.

The resolution, sponsored by France, UK and the US, was adopted with 13 members, including India, voting in favour, none against it. Russia and China abstained from voting.
